***

V Zátiší restaurant was opened in 1991 as one of the first private restaurants in Prague. Since then, it has not only become an integral part of the lives of experienced food connoisseurs, but also a place where, away from the spotlight, Prague businessmen and diplomats like to meet and greet. V Zátiší is a place where important agreements get concluded. Whether you plan to negotiate an important deal or propose marriage, rest assured that the quiet and intimate ambience of V Zátiší will improve your odds...

According to the local tourist guide Grand Restaurant, V  Zátiší has been, from the historical point of view, the most successful restaurant that has also for long enjoyed endorsement by the Michelin tour guides confirming the lasting quality of its gastronomy.

The restaurant’s interior is divided into two parts: there are three smaller rooms on the right upon entry that provide an ideal environment for pleasant and relaxed meetings while the left side is occupied by a bar and a larger room over viewing Betlemske square. Each of the rooms features a unique style as the restaurant’s interior was designed by renowned local design masters - Bára Škorpilová, Barbara Hamplová and Rony Plesl. Glass artefacts by the latter promote the unique feel. When designing the guest area of the restaurant, the objective of linking it with the kitchen was also kept in mind. You can thus literally watch the chefs in action and admire their culinary art through a large window.

Allow our menu to seduce you...
V Zátiší restaurant’s menu offers both Czech and international specialities designed by its chef Milan Hořejš. All meals are prepared strictly from fresh ingredients thoroughly inspected by the chef himself.

Our concept “double temptation” is truly unique and intriguing. Double temptation means that we serve each main ingredient of a meal (e.g. meat or fish) with two different sauces allowing our guests to experiment with different combinations of tastes. Our deal of a three-course menu for 1050 crowns with each additional course for only 150 crowns has also become very popular with our guest. They can create their own menu consisting of many courses and indulge in a culinary feast during a single visit.

The so called degustation menus have also become a very popular part of our offer. We always prepare at least two of them: a Czech degustation menu composed of Czech traditional dishes and an international Zátiší menu representing “the best of V Zátiší”.  These menus consist of five courses each and can be ordered together with wine degustation which means that each course will be served with a different, carefully selected, wine to assure the maximum harmony of all tastes making the gastronomic experience truly unforgettable. In case of the Czech menu, all served wines are strictly of the local origin. This concept of letting us select the wines to be served with each meal has become so popular with our guests that we have decided to keep this option open for all of our meals. What exactly does this mean? You select your menu and preferred wines and we then serve each course with the wine that suits it the best. This notion has recently become more popular than the earlier practice when guests used to order a bottle of wine to drink with the entire menu. We also invest a significant amount of money in modern and original porcelain in order to enhance the food presentation and impress our guests even more.

It is an imperative that the wines are in harmony with the meals they are served with. Therefore, in V Zátiší, we pay special attention to the process of selecting wines for our restaurant. Our wine list features high quality wines from Europe and the New World alongside with stunning wines produced by the South Moravian wine masters. If we take true liking in a particular wine, we often purchase the entire batch. Then, you can only enjoy this wine in our restaurants and nowhere else. We believe that you should always receive the best quality for your money. We do our best to sell our wines for reasonable, competitive prices.  Moreover, a special wine list has been prepared for our Zátiší Club members at prices that will pleasantly surprise you. In order to enjoy these reduced prices along with many other benefits, become a Zátiší Club member.

You will be able to enjoy all your favourite specialities and wines in the non-smoking environment of V Zátiší.
